Waagner Biro Bridge Fabrication LLC constructed these impressive and unique, 119m m long, ‘S’ curve structural steel bridge sections for a project adjacent to Dragon Mart on the Dubai to Hatta E42 road.
The bridge is made of 3-dimensional rolled steel plates with thicknesses varying from 20-50 mm to provide the external curved shape of both alignment and cross-section. End of May we transport the first segments from our yard at Jebal Ali to the project site a distance of 39km away. This transportation was carried out during late evening hours to reduce any impact of traffic disruption with several road closures being in place and police diversions to assist transportation of such a long structure.
The erection sequence for the first phase of the unique, 119m m long, ‘S’ curve structural steel bridge sections commenced as planned first week of June 2020 and the impressive feat of installing over 210 tons of steel using 2 nos. 500T Cranes was completed and enabled the busy E44 road to be opened to traffic on schedule.
