At the request of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Waagner Biro Gulf LLC designed and built water transport stations throughout Dubai Creek, along Dubai’s coast line and Dubai Marina, from smaller Abra stations to larger water bus, water taxi and ferry stations. One brief we received was to design and build a large public water station to link the Al Ghubaiba metro station with Dubai’s water transport system. As a station for water taxis, water buses and ferries, it had to be modern but, due to its location in Dubai’s oldestt area, it also needed to reflect the Country’s heritage.
